CASE STUDY: Veterans Village, Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada The need housing for United States Veterans in Southern Nevada is acute. Veterans Village, Downtown Las Vegas was established in 2011 to create a transitional and permanent housing model with comprehensive support services to address this demand. Veterans Village is a transitional and permanent housing residence for United States Veterans and is operated 24/7 by SHARE, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Veterans Village provides transitional and permanent housing, 12 step programs, medical & mental health service access, dental services, Three Square Regional Food Bank nutrition, job connections, clothing and other services that cater to the special needs of our Veterans and people in the community. This will serve as a case study model to replicate on infill sites with The Neighborhood to add additional housing for Veterans.

Veterans Village is dedicated to the creation of an environment that is home to United States Veterans. This is a unique and innovative approach to holistic and comprehensive housing with 24/7/365 crisis intervention center intensive support services. Public and private collaborative partnerships have been created to provide supplies and services to residents including housing, medical and mental health services, employment training, referrals and placements, food pantry/nutrition programs and transportation to the VA Hospital and primary care clinics.
